Who We're Looking For As our operations expand, we require an experienced Senior Accountant to enhance our finance team's capabilities. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Managing and overseeing all accounting operations and financial reporting for entities in the UAE, Japan, and possibly in other regions. Building and maintaining relationships with auditors, and facilitating audit procedures. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review. Ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance, including VAT filings, Corporate tax filings, and other statutory requirements. Contributing to the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance. Mentoring and supporting the development of junior accounting staff. Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to improve financial processes and systems continuously. Goals for the First 3 Months: Assume responsibility for managing the accounting affairs of legal entities in the UAE. Oversee the audit process for the financial statements of the fiscal year 2023. Restore the accounting records for two legal entities in the UAE and one in Japan. Initiate the accounting process for all legal entities in the UAE and Japan. Collaborate with the CFO to devise accounting policies. Ensure the timely preparation of information for VAT reporting. Engage in the Odoo implementation project, taking proactive steps within the accounting function. Yearly Goals: Establish and implement an internal control system to ensure accurate and reliable recording of all business transactions, as well as information regarding company assets and liabilities. Successfully undergo the audit of financial statements for the fiscal year 2024. Maintain accounting records within the implemented ERP system Odoo. How to Know If You're a Good Fit Expertise: You possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance. Qualification: You have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and also Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CMA (or you are partially qualified). Experience: You have a proven track record of success in similar roles, with at least 5 years of relevant experience preferably in the wholesale or automotive industry. Technical Skills: You are proficient in using accounting software such as (Quickbooks, accounting modulus of SAP, Oracle, and Odoo ERP), and are comfortable with financial analysis and reporting.
